Tutoring

One to One and Group Tuition

A growing body of evidence suggests one to one tuition to be the most effective catch up intervention strategy available. However both one to one and small group tuition have proved effective approaches.

Tuition is guided by the school and linked to the curriculum. Tutors work with teachers and students focussing on areas of most benefit allowing fro additional practise and feedback

In the Community or Home

Specific cases may require after school or weekend one to one or group tuition programmes. Particularly with low-attaining or disadvantaged students. Studies have shown extended school hours to have a positive impact on attendance and behaviour. Academically out of school hours tuition can account for 2+ months of progression.

We can assist by providing QTS tutors and support staff for after school and weekend tuition.

Targets and Progress Reporting

When required, our tutors undertake baseline assessments identifying areas of need. Targets with agreed upon time frames are set from the outset. These targets are agreed upon and stated in the pupil, parent & tutor agreement, signed by all, providing ownership to parents and learners. Reports are submitted weekly which cover engagement, attendance and any safeguarding issues encountered. After sessions Coordinators are verbally updated and issues reported immediately. Termly reports are supplied to measure academic attainment against targets.

Online Tuition

Certain situations may require location flexibility. Our online tuition platforms allow for flexibility and interactivity, updating parents on workflow post session, giving more control of the process.
While online platforms are not the preferred method of tuition, some learners who struggle with in-person social interaction may benefit from this as a preferred method of tution.

We can provide high level personalised QTS tutors and support staff well versed in our preferred platforms google classroom & bramble

"Educ8SEN is a wonderful resource for Local Authority's to buy into and with Maria at the helm we always know that we are going to get a professional, flexible, friendly and committed response to our referral for young people who are difficult to place in college or other educational and vocational pathways. Our pupils have achieved good outcomes and the matching of pupils and tutors is always carefully considered based on the pupils needs, provision, personality and aspirations. Feedback from the young people and their families has been great too Thank you Educ8SEN for all your support to our young people!

- Senior SEND Coordinator

Feedback received from multiple families of the young people receiving service from Educ8SEN was that Maria was contactable at all times so that families and professionals could ask her questions, get her opinion, offer ideas, and give feedback. Maria and Educ8SEN's passion was reflective - she ensured that her service was person centred, and sought to ensure that the tutors qualities were shaped around the individual rather than the other way around.

- Send Team

Working Hard, showing professional integrity, having a can-do/positive attitude and an optimistic outlook are all qualities that Maria has shown and this has had a positive effect on those accessing her services and it has provided reassurance to practitioners seeking her services, that the individuals will have access to a service which promotes the social values we all strive for.

- Social Worker

I have had a really positive experience through establishing contact with Maria, as a result of a sixteen year old boy who had been out of school due to permanent exclusion, and he received home tutoring through Educ8SEN.
